Forgiveness, Gratitude, & Growth

There are times when I feel overwhelmed with compassion for others. There are also many times when I feel no compassion for myself.  Today I arrived to a space I hadn't consciously been thinking about. I was expressing gratitude for thoughts and love and a communication with someone took me to a space of vulnerability and power.

Someone else's pain allowed me to envision mine and to authentically forgive
the person who inflicted this pain on me. I forgave from the depths of my soul and at this moment I feel so free.  The work, however, has only just begun.

Can you remember a moment when you felt like you had to forgive someone?
Did you forgive them?
How did you feel once you forgave them?
Can you remember a moment when you refused to forgive?
Do you remember your pride impeding you from opening your heart up to forgive?
How does that feel?

Ultimately, for me, forgiving this individual is me having compassion for me. What a life lesson!

Go out and forgive someone who needs forgiving, maybe you have to forgive yourself. Show yourself some compassion. I highly recommend it!

Love transcends all things.  Trust in the wonder and power of your dreams.

  1. Forgiveness and compassion are amazing qualities we should all posses, including forgiving our selves for the trespasses we have allowed.
